Louise L. contacted Couto Construction to assess the 17-year-old roof and gutter system on her North Dartmouth Cottage, and to inquire about better attic insulation. The challenge for any multi-tiered project is coordinating the different jobs. Luckily, the production team at Couto Construction is up to the task.
After meeting with estimator James, Louise decided on a Platinum Preferred Owens Corning roofing package with Sierra Gray shingles, Klean Gutter guards and 17 inches of blown-in insulation. First, the crew removed a portion of the roof deck to access the attic. After removing the existing insulation, we built a 10x10 storage deck and a 25x2 catwalk, air sealed the attic and blew in cellulose insulation with an R value of 60. The roof went on next, with the final step the re-pitching of the gutters and the addition of 110-feet of gutter guards.
